Police launch major river search after woman, 64, disappeared on Monday

A major search has been launched for a woman who went missing on Monday in Perth, Scotland.

Clare Marshall, from the Scottish city, went missing early this week and now police have launched an “extensive” search to find her.


Police believe she left the Dundee Road area and then possibly walked to Moncreiffe Island.

Searches within the River Tay have since taken place since the alarm was raised, led by the Fire service rescue teams.

Mountain rescue later joined the search.

Marshall, 64, is 5ft 4in, of average build and has shoulder-length grey hair.

She was last seen wearing all black clothing.

Inspector Kris McCall said officers are “concerned” for Ms Marshall’s welfare.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

He added: “I urge anyone with information about Clare’s whereabouts to get in touch with police by calling 101.

“Likewise, I would appeal directly to Clare: if you see this message, please contact the police or approach any officer so we can ensure you’re safe and well.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1608 of 18 December.

It comes after days after the body of missing Gaynor Lord, 55, was discovered in a river in Norfolk.
