About Research Marketing
Research Marketing is a trade news publication covering the business of marketing, advertising, and media. We report on the decisions, deals, data, and ideas that shape how brands reach audiences and how agencies, platforms, and publishers compete for attention and spend. Our readers include marketers, agency leaders, media buyers and sellers, researchers, founders, and operators who need a clear, daily read on a fast-moving industry.
We launched Research Marketing as part of a simple conviction: trade coverage should be useful before it is clever. That means leading with verified facts, naming sources where possible, separating news from opinion, and explaining why a development matters to practitioners. When a holding company restructures, a platform changes its ad policies, a measurement standard shifts, or a consumer trend redraws a category, our job is to report what happened, who is affected, and what to watch next.
What We Cover
Our newsroom is organized around seven beats that together map the modern marketing economy:
- Marketing: Brand strategy, chief marketing officer moves, campaign launches, sponsorships, and the organizational changes behind them.
- Advertising: Creative and media agencies, account wins and losses, holding-company results, production, and the economics of agency work.
- Media: Publishers, broadcasters, streamers, and audio — their audiences, revenue models, distribution deals, and policy fights.
- Consumer Insights: Research studies, surveys, panels, and behavioral data that help explain how people discover, evaluate, and buy.
- Digital: Search, social, retail media, programmatic advertising, privacy changes, and the platforms that set the rules for online demand.
- Business: Earnings, mergers and acquisitions, funding, regulation, and the financial pressures reshaping marketing services.
- Technology: Marketing technology, analytics, identity, and applied artificial intelligence — covered as business tools, not as hype.
Across these desks we publish breaking news, reported features, interviews, analysis of public filings and research releases, and concise briefs that distill long reports into what a busy reader needs to know.
How We Work
Most of our stories are bylined to individual reporters. Some briefs and roundups are published under the Staff Reports desk byline, which we use for newsroom-compiled items built from company statements, regulatory filings, earnings releases, and research announcements that we have checked against primary sources. A Staff Reports byline never means a story was published unchecked; it means the item is a verified newsroom brief rather than a single reporter’s feature.
Our standards are straightforward. We seek primary documents before commentary. We apply a two-source rule to consequential claims wherever practicable, and we say so when a claim rests on a single source. We do not pay for news, we do not trade coverage for advertising, and sponsored material is always labelled as such. When we make an error, we correct it visibly and keep a record of the change, as described in our Corrections Policy.
Research Marketing uses standard digital publishing tools, including disclosed AI assistance for tasks such as transcription, summarization of long documents for internal review, and headline testing. No AI system writes or approves our published journalism; every story is reviewed and edited by a human editor before publication, as set out in our Code of Ethics.
Our Readers and Our Purpose
The marketing economy employs millions of people and directs trillions of dollars of spending, yet it is often covered either as celebrity gossip about campaigns or as impenetrable trade jargon. We aim for the middle: reporting that a chief marketing officer, a media planner, a founder, and a curious general reader can all use. If you run a brand, we want you to understand your market. If you run an agency or a platform, we want you to see your competitors clearly. If you study or teach this industry, we want you to find a reliable daily record.
Part of 24World Media
Research Marketing is published by and is a proud member of the 24World Media network of news outlets. Network membership gives us shared technology, production, and business infrastructure, while our editorial decisions — what we cover, how we frame it, and what we publish — are made by the Research Marketing newsroom. We say this openly because readers deserve to know who publishes what they read: this site is a 24World Media publication, operated with an independent trade desk dedicated to marketing, advertising, and media.
Being part of a network also means accountability travels with us. The standards on this page, our Code of Ethics, and our Corrections Policy apply to everything we publish, whether a story originates with our own reporters or is compiled by the Staff Reports desk.
